By Heather HolmesKTVU.comSAN JOSE, Calif. — College students in the South Bay are outraged by the sudden closure of their school.Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Deputies Monday closed Bryman College on South Winchester Boulevard in San Jose after the landlord slapped the school with an eviction order. The school provides training in medical fields at campuses in San Jose, Hayward, San Francisco and Los Angeles. The San Jose location is the only one to be shuttered.“How do you not pay rent for a building?” asked 20-year-old student Amanda Caleira. “Words can’t even describe it. That’s how mad I am.”Caldeira told KTVU she was in class Monday afternoon when her instructor left the room. She then returned and told all of the students they had one hour to collect their things and leave.“How could they tell us last minute to just pack up,” she asked.Caldeira was studying to be a medical assistant and said she paid $16,000 in tuition.“All that money was given to the school, it’s like what did you do with it? Did you just blow it on yourself,” said Caldeira. The Bryman College system is operated by the for profit education company BioHealth College.KTVU went by the company’s San Jose headquarters but were told no one was available to discuss the situation. Monday evening a locksmith was on the grounds of Bryman College rekeying the doors.Caldeira said she and other students plan to show up at the school Tuesday morning when classes normally begin in search of answers.“It’s like do I transfer my credits to a different school? Do I wait to figure out if this school is going to pay their rent and I can come back here?” Caldeira said. “I have no idea what I’m going to do.”

It very tough to quit smoking tobacco… but not as tough as dying of lung cancer. Loose all your hair from kemo and gain 60 lbs from steroids. end up in a wheel chair as the cancer rots out your brain and goes every where in your body. Finally you die of an embolism. Watched as my best friend died of lung cancer. He beat drugs ten years before he died of lung cancer. He could not beat smoking tobacco. Its a tough one to lick. My mom is now 93 and quit at 60 years old. It is possible to quit.

According to Senator Santorum, military personnel who are not married don’t have sex…. Of course Rick has never served in the military… Wonder what McCain did while he was in the military during Vietnam?

Sums it up for me! The most crazy thing is that banks and corporations don’t send back checks or create Electronic transfers for tax deducible items. I have to copy every check from the back of my bank statement, write up lists of electronic transfers generated by check instead of just organizing the checks into envelops and figuring out what goes where on the C form… The biggest laugh is that this is all done in the name of paper reduction… Heck, I have to generate more paper and then these banks send me more paper… There is no paper reduction by doing what they do…

I grew up in a house in Westport, Conn where Bob Lefingwell helped Harold Grey draw Little Orphan Annie during the late 1950’s. The upper rental had several artists live there during those 10 years…. Putt Putnam, Frank Covino, Mike Micos and Bob Leffingwell were among the artists that lived in that house. I have been reading Little Orphan Annie ever since with a fond connection to those days. I will miss her on a very personal level. And how have I made a living for 40 years… as an artist of course….
