It shouldn’t matter at all but unfortunately to many people, it’s a problem. Whenever commercials, for example, show interracial couples, there is always a backlash from racists.

Bull – that’s a completely nonsense sexist trope – i.e. that women don’t like nice guys. We do. The problem is that guys will act nice and then the jerk comes out. Also, I’ve gone out with the self-described “nice guy” and he was the biggest a-hole of them all. He thought of himself as a nice guy because he was a nerd who didn’t know how to talk to girls. I fell for that nonsense – oh the nerdy guy has got to be a sweetheart. Nope. Not being able to score with women because you’re not “cool” doesn’t make you a nice guy. You’re not a nice guy just because you haven’t had the chance to treat women like crap. I married the nicest, most gallant, genuine man in the world. And I know he’s that because I’ve known him as a friend almost my whole life. He also happens to be very “cool” and very handsome.
What a load of bull – if it had been some hot football player type, she wouldn’t have slammed the door. The point of the strip is that she is NOT open to others and fundamentally, she is just as shallow as she’s always been.
