Where is this petition hiding, and why haven’t we seen it?

B & N isn’t so right, it’s in trouble, too, just not as deep as Borders. I hope “books on paper” never become obsolete, but I love the antique ones.

Buying books isn’t a luxury – Erasmus said it best, “whenever I have a little money, first I buy books…”

Those who can do, teach; those who can’t write the legislation which keeps us from teaching.

Did study Latin (one hand up) and do understand it (second hand up) as I’m a Latin teacher! The Quayle quote is posted in my room; amazing how many students don’t get it. Alas, they don’t “get” English either - grammar, spelling, syntax and punctuation are over their heads. Even worse, most don’t care, making that “teaching of Latin” part more of a challenge.

Funny, good joke, shame it was more likely a cobra used than an asp. Admittedly, many more puns and so forth to be made with the latter.

It would be a lot better if “emperor” were spelled correctly!
