   Had an indoor/outdoor tom that would scratch the door when he wanted “OUT!!” (name Tom) Hung bell on a string onto doorknob. Took only 2 days for him to ring the bell (and saved door )

   re: bell episodes brought to mind a stray that became an indoor/outdoor cat. When he wanted OUT he would scratch the door. I tied a bell to a string & tied it onto the doorknob-after 2 days show & tell he would ring the bell, which I would hear & let him out, saving the door. Yes, cats be trained—if its in their own best interests!
