All you math whizzes out there, help me figure out what combination of at bats and hits you’d need to have a .751 batting average. I get .750, but .751. It seems like you’d need an enormous number of at bats to pick up that one extra point.

For those keeping score at home, the last strip that was not directly about sports was May 25.

As did I regarding Rod not coloring the strip.

Remember: It’s the colorist who inks these strips, not Whigham. I’m more concerned by the faces in P2. I rarely think I could draw as well as Whigham, but this is one of those times. At least Mopman is at the top of his game. Look at the shine on that floor in P2!

I think you might have misunderstood my comment. I’m saying that if the Sox go wire to wire in last place this year, they will/may be the only MLB team to have gone wire to wire in first place (2005) and in last place (2024). BTW, according to Wikipedia, on May 11, the 1899 Spiders climbed out of the cellar into 11th place in the 12 team National League, so they didn’t go wire to wire in last place that season.

Oh, my White Sox are missing so much more than that. In 2005, the Sox were in first place every day of the season. So far this year, they’ve been in last place every day and look like they’ll be there the rest of the year as well. I’m not sure about this but suspect that no other team has ever gone wire to wire in first place and in last place.

You are correct, sir! Marty is sponsored by Hoo Dad’s Root Beer®. Marty has substituted our product for his alcoholic beverages and has been sober for a while now — still an alcoholic but staying sober day by day. Kudos to Marty. Now if there were only a way to control his rampant assholeism. Unfortunately, Hoo Dad’s Root Beer® hasn’t helped him with that yet.

As Gil-doh! said, we have an NIL deal with Rod that makes him the official HIGH SCHOOL spokesperson. Marty has a normal endorsement deal that makes him the official MEDIA spokesperson.
