Bay leaves are cooked in with soups and stews because they add flavour. and they also smell wonderful, but you can’t actually eat them: they’re far too leathery and bitter. It would be like trying to eat aromatic brown paper.
Our cat Plush disappeared after we had a plumber in to do some work on the beth. We spent hours looking for him – and he could meow. The little sod was sitting underneath the sink, behind the panelling, listening to us calling him.
Some crows do in fact make tools, albeit simple ones. So do chimps and some parrots.
