This is a brill cartoon…says it all w/o saying a word…and more, as if you look at the back of the pachyderm’s head, you’ll notice it really resembles something more than perhaps what you would expect the back of an elephant’s head to look like.
As to the issue of booting or banning people b/c you don’t agree with their statements…wouldn’t that make it less of a forum, and more of a hundred dollar a plate dinner for the candidate in question?? Freedom of speech is one of those freedoms Americans cherish and do fight to protect, regardless of which political party holds the office at the time.
This says it all. It’s not going to be a fast turn-around, but it will eventually happen. Economic recovery is inevitable. It’s either that things get better or they don’t, and there’s at least a 50/50 chance that they will. Nice odds, really, in any race.
McCain’s only saving grace was that he actually made dubya look nearly innocent and thoughtful, rather than bissfully ignorant and arrogant. Well, that, and he proved that the picking of running mates, regardless of public promise of intention, can and will change, determined by statistical realities, and without care to the ultimate outcome of choice. Regan did the same, when he promised not to choose Bush (meaning Bush the secret society AND CIA member, not the failed alcoholic oilman wanna be doughnut maneuvering reservist to whom I see here some would demand we should respect simply because he managed to get into yet another job he was clearly at a loss as to know how to handle.) I’m not a leftist by the way…I’m a realist. And really…trickle-down ecosystems are no worse or better than that trickle-down theory put into practice was helping the system of economics. Give someone, regardless of party line, race, age, or otherwise, a CHANCE to try to fix at least 8 years of debt, fear, and utter despair in what was once a place for opportunity. Let SOMEONE TRY and regain the lost respect and care that was ours, here in the US, before personal and private agendas re-thought this country’s efforts and intentions, at least totally by the beginning of the millennium.
What barticle35 said…yeah… M Smokey, do you think that maybe that’s the reason they’re trying with the greenhouse effect to lessen the polar bear pop, to make room for the seniors? :P Oh I love warped ethics coupled with bad politics and special interest topics;)
I hope people aren’t about to consider that this replicates the oval office. The scenery out the window has it entirely too high to be anything on Penn Avenue. Incidentally, I have to agree with TheDoctortheoneonlya… that IS a good one;)
I adore Johnny Hart and his band of misfit ‘magnons. Nothing makes me smile faster than to find his strip on my page:) I especially love his older stuff, when the gang’s feet were actually looked more human in size and proportion. I would have to prolly say though, that Wiley is my fave.
