A nice cross between TOS and TNG.

Why is the president talking about preserving our national race horses?

She never actually says, “Fly, my pretties,” she just says, “Fly”.

It’s when Raymond Burr shows up that we’ve got trouble.

As long as you can shovel a path to the barbecue, it’s good.

I have a next-door neighbour who is from Dublin. A few years ago we’d had a snowstorm and the next day I shoveled a path out to the barbecue. I got a bit warm doing it fast, so I threw my jacket back into the house and finished shovelling with just a sweater on. As I was lighting the barbecue, I heard this voice from next door calling out, “That’s the most Canadian thing I’ve ever seen!”

It was Chuckles the Clown, actually. He was dressed as Peter Peanut, one of his characters.

That is the more preferred rendering of the passage, but the original King James did just say, “For the love of money is the root of all evil …”. Obviously, not all evil is driven by the love of money, but much is.

A few people have mentioned her role as Roberta Lincoln in Star Trek’s Assignment: Earth, but nobody’s mentioned that she played Phoebe’s mother in Friends.

I figured it was just a typo. There’s a saying that you can’t comment on a grammatical / spelling mistake without making one of your own!

The full, proper title is only used in formal settings. Before he was King Charles III, Charles, Prince of Wales was regularly referred to as Prince Charles, even in the UK. Princess Diana was referred to that way as well.

By the way, since we’re being pedantic, it’s “faux pas”. Also, “mothers-in-law” is the correct pluralization.
