BaconBoyCamper Free

Old retired (April 01 2009) railwayman living in Calgary Alberta Canada. I was always very interested in antique cars, finally bought a 1928 Early AR Ford in 1989. My Moniker comes from me cooking 22 kilos of bacon on a griddle for about 35 other campers on long-weekend Monday morning... You can contact me at . . . . . . resumlak (at) telus.net ************ Current cat overlords: *TOTEM* -- A foundling kitten just days old, found in a Totem Building Supplies parking lot in 35C heat in a small city south of us (May 2007). *NUBI* -- Ex-barn kitten named because he is a “Noobie” and because he does look like he is from Nubia (at daughter’s wedding, Aug 2013). *MANGO* -- A rescue adoption returnee (returned several times apparently) (born Apr 2016, adopted Aug 2017).

ALL Citizens of the Orb are Welcome, marilynnbyerly. Please feel free to join us!

I can agree with that, McColl34!

It’s a slow, relaxed day in the Grumbling Room at the moment, with the OIXL on a day’s hiatus. But, the door that never fully closes is still open enough for the Citizens of the Orb to meander through to grab a coffee or a tea, and maybe a donut as well. And, someone may ask a tantalizing and curious question — you just never know — so, stick around and enjoy…

Or if you would rather just grab one for on-the-go…

What my partner and I did at a few months after Co-Vid settled down (spring/summer, 2020) was to go sit outside the local WALMART and watch people comin’ and goin’… It’s amazing what retired people get up to…

I asked the virtual kitchen about the celery, Caerin. Something about some sort of “decreed regulation” saying that a commercial establishment has to somehow “offset” the carbs and salts from the wings. I dunno, I think it’s more about the visual colour balance more than anything else…

Not a problem, Tigrisan, but I wouldn’t be too certain with the statement that there will be few takers for the suicide wings — I thought them to be too spicy, until I found out about blue-cheese dressing as a dip. Now, my go-to FAV!

To your question, my answer is a resounding, ”YES!!!”

Now, it is up to you to decide just which of your questions I have answered. And that, my Gentle Bear, is an answer to which I shall frame in the future.

It depends, I guess, on one’s outlook on life, the universe, and determinants. I believe that the future and the universe ”unfolds as it should” and that there is no pre-determined “Master Plan.” It is mind-boggling to ponder…

BTW, I understood your reference to Frege’s beard — if, in fact your were doing so — vis-a-vis Russel’s “Barber Paradox”.

Professor, concerning your Question du Jour, there is just no middle ground on either the proposition or its negation.

Take for example :: "This sentence is false.”

Is this sentence TRUE?  If so, it’s then FALSE. Is this sentence FALSE?  If so, then the sentence is TRUE.  No middle ground…  Hence, Unravelable…  The best you can do is to use the Principle of Indifference which Keynes put forth, basically, using the assignment of even odds to the probability of each truth value.  Basically, in the end, you calculate the best guess as to the future events.

As for Friedrich Gottlob Frege…  Yep, Bertrand Russell certainly threw Gottlob Frege for a loop with that “Set Theory” bomb as Gottlob Frege’s dissertation, "Basic Laws of Arithmetic", went to press.  Russell could had timed it better, though…

Here you go, Ambush Kitten, the virtual kitchen was still open.
