I was waiting for true colors to be displayed in either the Ron Paul or Ayn Rand varieties. I can now go back to ignoring the right wing hate spew that pollutes this comment board.
HBuck, I hope William Gray is correct, but he’s one of a handful (I saw the list) of scientists who are in opposition to the consensus. If he’s right, then we environmentalists have been arguing for conservation and against pollution for one less reason out of many. If he’s wrong (and the scientific majority from all disciplines and nations thinks he is) then Global Warming is going to join the long list of human-caused disasters that we could have stopped, but didn’t.
I hesitate to dignify the anti-science global warming deniers, but let’s think about it for a second: Who has more to gain from “manipulating” public opinion? Scientists and environmentalists (who have looked at empirical evidence and wish to stop a horrible disaster) or companies that produce and use fossil fuels, and have shown for decades that they will stop at nothing to protect their profits?
Charlie–are the teabaggers the Right’s fringe? I thought they were loyal followers of Rush and Glenn, in other words, mainstream Republicans (or “Conservatives,” which seems to be what former repubs who have some shame call themselves).
Didn’t Jesus throw some kind of bizarre temper tantrum at a fig tree that wasn’t producing fruit? I guess that’s one of the stories that’s supposed to be symbolic, not the literal truth ones that tell us to hate gays.
Spill, baby, spill!
