I understand, I don’t think this comic did a good job of illustrating the quote. Randy taught an advanced university class in computer science. His class was so motivational that the waiting list to get in was enormous. Anyway, during his “last lecture,” he recounts how when he was much younger and still a student how several adults and instructors tried to discourage him from pursuing his dreams and goals when he was younger. Many made it extremely tough. While in the moment, he hated those “teachers” but later realized they were obstacles he had to overcome to reach his dreams. That theme was the basis for his last lecture, aptly titled “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”. It is an amazing lecture, and I can’t imagine anyone watching it not to feel inspired.
This is from Randy Pausch, the “Last Lecture”. It is an amazing final speech from a University Professor to his class before he dies due to IIRC stomach or colon cancer. You can find his video online, and if you have not seen it, I highly recommend it. It is well worth the watch, very stirring, and very motivational.
