   I grew up in a white neighborhood in Queens (NYC), not known for it’s racial tolerance in the 1970s & 80s. In the 80s we were gerrymandered into a new district that was majority black. The outcome was a Congressman very few in my neighborhood voted for because their votes were overwhelmed by the black voters. So the white candidate’s votes (probably in the Dem primary) were negated.

   Driving in the snow is not so bad (at least until it gets very heavy); it’s the drivers who think they can drive like it is a warm sunny day that are a problem. And working up a sweat shoveling snow while you are freezing is not fun either.
