I have a question for Michael Reardon: I am a Marx Brothers fan from waaaay back but recently came across a 1931 Pressbook illustration for the movie “Monkey Business”. At the top is a character in front of a box office window, drawn very much in the style of your father. Could this be his work?

Boogie Woogie was a style of piano music that blossomed in the 1920’s and was adopted into many songs including big band/swing, counrty and rock and roll. The left hand plays a driving 8 beats to the bar rhythm while the left freestyles.
Thanks, and thanks for offering so much insight behind the pen of your father’s work.
