That was great to see Hoogy’s entrance back into Rover’s life, thanks! I read about the next six months or so (through the Dick Tracy and Melba’s uncle’s murder arc) but haven’t found yet what must be a great reconciliation story between River and Hoogy!

Hey, that was a wonderful storyline. It was also my first introduction to Hoogy, Rover’s lovely wife! I used to be an editor at POPULAR MECHANICS back in the 80’s when John Linkletter was Editor in Chief. He was a wonderful guy. PM used to have a standing reward (forget how much but a lot) for the invention of an engine (or even a perpetual motion device) that would do what Rover did. (John never, of course, thought that perpetual motion was coming or even that something very, very cheap would replace gas. But he enjoyed the mail! Once he even sent someone cross-country but the “inventor” sort of ran off.) I have decided I have got to put catching up on Jim S. on the top burner (so to speak) for the next month or more!

Wow I would love to see that that storyline on the return of “mom.” She was such a dislikable character. Wonderful line of Rover’s to Clovia, thanks.

Thanks! I will read the rest of that story arc later today. But it very cool to finally meet the adult Rover. I like the way Jim S. sort of matched the eyes of Boog and Rover. I do hope some company come out soon with a collection of his work. I love places like Go Comics but sometimes nothing beats the feeling of holding a book full of comics!

I wonder if anyone can help me here on a Rover Hunt. I just got into Gasoline Alley a few years back with the various anthologies all of which I have read. So I am real familiar with the older characters from King through Moores but less so with today’s. I really fell in love with the story of Rover back when Slim and Clovia took him in. But I cannot find anything in the archives here as to a grown-up Rover. On a different Forum I was told he was last featured in a Thanksgiving story. Unable to find that one! Can anyone please direct me to a story or appearence by a grown-up Rover? Thanks!

As always Jan Eliot delivers a comic that goes past the page and touches us in our very hearts!

43 years ago my wife and I purchased our wedding rings, in the shopping mall, from a jewelry store named Unique Boutique! The owner retired around five years back. It IS a good name! And the rings seem to have worked.

Whether or not you believe in God (I personally will wait to meet him to decide for absolute sure) there is no doubt as to the power of prayer. There is something called The Mind Body Connection which sincere prayer does seem to access and to use. Whether it is a Supreme Deity healing the body or the body itself doing the deed from the power of the Mind and the impetus of Belief makes no difference to the resulting health. I don’t care what your Philosophy of Religion might be — this was an excellent series!

I am new to this artist but it is an intriguing strip debut. The characterization and draftsmanship is very impressive for a just-begun strip. I seldom add brand-new strips to my mix but have with this one. It looks to be a great deal of fun is just beginning!
