A phobia is a fear, not a dislike, so the term pedophobia does not apply. Disliking kids does not make one a monster. Bernice could easily have a career in counseling of adults, she doesn’t need to be around kids. And having been one herself is irrelevant.

Honey and Duke are always having two completely different conversations.

Or – and I know this sounds crazy! – maybe they don’t want or need to pair up every character in the strip, and just want to show young people having friends, instead of depicting a new romance every week.

Thank you! I’m so tired of seeing the majority of commenters fitting Luann for a wedding dress within two minutes of her meeting a new guy.

Who says that’s EVERY woman’s ideal man?

Oh, we’ve all become extremely familiar with hypocrisy over the last four.

THANK YOU! Honestly it’s exhausting the way so many readers keep trying to match Luann up with every man she speaks to. Can’t the girl just have friends? Luann and Jack have been friends for a while, and she has shown no interest in dating him, nor he in dating her after his first couple of tries. He accepted the ‘not interested’ and moved on.

They’ve been talking for five minutes after a year-long (at least) absence and “they’re trying to pair Ben and Luann”—??? Really?

Go ahead and keep drinking the Kool-Aid, while Trumpty-Dumpty laughs at you behind closed doors. No matter how much evidence comes out that he is a self-aggrandizing, selfish, narcissistic, failure, you’ll keep kissing his fundament because all of you are exactly the same way. Nazi lovers, fascists and fools.

And you think all of those things can be attributed to mothers working outside the home? We live in a society that glorifies huge corporate profits; we have been moving away from a society that rewards workers for a long time now. The people at the top accumulate more and more profit, while their employees do the work of 3 or more people at their primary job, and still have to have a second, sometimes even a third, job to survive. College costs are out of control, health care costs are out of control, and housing costs are way, way beyond out of control. Who profits from that? Huge corporations, not the general public. Meanwhile we’re told by politicians that the people to blame are those who are even poorer than the overworked middle class: Minorities and immigrants, most of whom handle the jobs that middle class people won’t do. We have millions of people in prison who work for pennies producing goods for corporate masters; we have companies who moved their manufacturing overseas where they can pay workers starvation wages, rather than keep the jobs here and pay workers fairly. It wasn’t mothers going to work that forced these changes. It was corporate greed working hand in hand with the politicians they bought.
