    What I find interesting in this cartoon is the last two panels. I am reminded that in too many cases people’s faith is in religion rather than in the person (Jesus), which might explain why there are so many different systems that all claim to preach the gospel when it seems rather that they are preaching their own rules and why they are better than other systems. If we could focus on relationship with God/Jesus/Holy Spirit we would find that religion doesn’t matter. Religion is really nothing but man’s way of putting themselves before God.

    I think you mean “…by rote…” (look it up). I understood your meaning, but preaching by route means instead preaching by following a particular path or direction. Rote (as a noun) means instead, routine or habitual, as a verb it means proceeding in a mechanical way.
