I have one and it’s nice but I pay I think a 20% surcharge on my insurance for it. I loved it for the first 10 years or so that I had it but nowadays, it’s easier to just turn up the thermostat. I keep the woodstove just in case we lose power for a couple of days or whatever.
We have The Winnipeg Sun, which is and always has been a total joke, and the Winnipeg Free Press, which is a shadow of its former self. Years ago , we had The Free Press and The Winnipeg Tribune. The Tribune folded in 1980. I don’t see The Free Press lasting much longer as an actual printed newspaper, though I’m sure they will maintain an online presence for at least as many years as I have left. In addition to the somewhat expensive subscription rates, they have taken to asking for donations. Like so many things, I will miss the print edition when it’s gone.
