I’m ambivalent about Hawaiian pizza…don’t go out of my way to order it/don’t mind eating it. However, I really REALLY miss the pastrami pizza with pickle chips and mustard that a pizza place back home made!
I never used to be a big fan of Girl Scout cookies…but I’ve made sure to buy a few boxes every single year since various “watchdog” groups have started insisting that the GSA is some sort of direct link to Satan……………………………
Re: Nick Vujicic…he’s a truly inspirational fellow and, if you’re an amputee who’s feeling sorry for yourself, he’ll definitely give you something to think about! In addition to being a motivational speaker, he’s also not a bad actor…if you can track down a short film called “The Butterfly Circus,” it’s worth a watch to see him play a part that’s definitely “made for him.”
Thanks for calling attention to the National Limb Loss Info Center and the Amputee Coalition! There are truly heartbreaking and maddening stories about insurance limits on prosthetic limbs…in some cases, even if a prosthesis is “covered,” there may be a limit of (I kid you not) a single prosthetic limb for the life of the patient. So, if you’re the parent of a child with limb loss, the question becomes “do you give your child a limb NOW, or do you wait until they’re fully grown?” A terrible dilemma!By the way, Teresa, I do love Frog Applause and the blog, even if I don’t usually comment!
