Phones go with you for emergencies only; they are best turned off and kept in your pocket. Walking your dog is good for you and your dog. Fresh air, exercise, being together, and getting away from audio- and visual-clutter is a blessing for you both.
(1) exercise-walks, (2) scent-walks, or (3) off-lead walks give you a chance to watch – and learn so much about – your best friend. They can teach you something you cannot learn by doing anything else; why ruin the opportunity? Ask yourself: Why are you concentrating on something you stare at during the entire day? Do you not love your dog enough to enjoy walking together? Can’t you put your dog ahead of your phone during walks? Watch your dogs and learn from them while sharing a golden opportunity.
