My apologies for getting in the weeds.I just get tired of hearing “Lincoln freed the slaves!” and ’"Juneteenth was the end of slavery in America!".Slavery is horrible and anti-American.I wish they had made a holiday out of Dec 6th, the date the 13th Amendment was ratified. That is when slavery was actually outlawed in the entire country.
Back to what we can all agree on, Happy Birthday Garfield!!!
If you live in Texas, Happy Juneteenth. If you live any place else it is a misleading holiday. Slavery remained legal in Kentucky and Delaware.
Remember the Emancipation Proclamation only ended slavery in the south. It remained legal in the north until the 13th amendment was ratified December 6, 1865.
Bonus fact slavery is still legal as punishment for a crime.
My Brother got me an Echo dot for Christmas one year. I set it up and more often then not her response was “I can’t do that” or “Look it up on the app”.
We need a Lil, Garfield crossover.Turkey Knuckle can’t be that far from Muncie can it?
