It was a picture of the replica that currently flies over Ft McHenry in Baltimore, and was captioned as such correctly.

I guess the issue is “That flag is totally wrong, look at the number of stripes” vs “Hey, that flag has 15 stripes. Did that really exist?”

Two very different responses to seeing the same image.

She chose the former. So no, not calling her dumb as such. You decide.

I ran across someone who didn’t know that at the time of the War of 1812, the flag (including the “Star Spangled Banner” over Ft. McHenry at the time the poem was conceived) had 15 stripes. She thought the image of it she saw (the replica that flies over the fort today) was a bad AI job.

This is how we end up with governments like Iran’s, where there is a President, but also a Prime Minister, but also a Supreme Leader.

For those wondering why lower-middle class might have IRS issues (except for self-employment and not setting aside for taxes as you were paid), many got caught by the tax changes in 2017 when kids went from being an exemption (something for your W-4s) to just being a tax credit (at half the amount). If on the edge of a bracket change, kids could no longer keep you on the lower bracket.

Granted, the increased standard deduction was supposed to help with that, but it still caught many in a particular window by surprise.

there are other reasons for a giant phlegm/coughing fit. I get them and it is just a matter of acid reflux. now granted, i do try to leave the room if i can and apply some sanitizer on my hands once i’m past it, but it isn’t a cold. it is just acid reflux increasing mucus drainage, and combined with cold weather and/or allergies it can get exacerbated.

a dry coughing fit is often bronchitis – the person isn’t not contagious but the damage to their throat causing the cough response has happened and that takes time to heal.
