-19f last night in far northern Maine. -15f scheduled for tonight. Absolutely tropical!
We have a garage full of cordwood, a lil’ propane heater, an oil furnace, candle and oil lanterns and the wife learnt to cook on a wood range. That and a lot of Bambi from the dam’ deer that ran out in front of the truck a couple of nights ago.
We figure that if we had a three day power outage up here it’d be business as usual for us but we’d have to keep an eye on all the people that suddenly wanted to be our best friends.
Nope, no tinfoil hats here but events of the last decade have served to remind us that food, shelter and heat are not constitutional entitlements.
And the wife likes cowboy coffee so strong you can float a horseshoe in it. Coffee that bites yer leg!
Sympathies, Mr. (I presume) Lewis – we’re both fully vaccinated here and still find ourselves in day six of recovery, even so. Go to bed, try to sleep through it until the bugger goes away.
Been a few days over 21 years since I went out on my first date with my wife. I asked her for a date. She said that although she wanted to go out with me she would never have been so forward as to have asked me. I had to ask her. Wouldn’t have happened otherwise. I say “Go for it”, Tiff. Apologies are easy, missing a chance OTOH…
Wait until one of your four legged children waits until you aren’t around, hops up onto the electric range and pees on one of the burners. (Gods only know why they do that.)
Then you turn on that burner…
It’ll sear your nose’s scent receptors for days. Skunk is far preferable to that smell.
When its brown let it mellow? Argh!
