He later saw her out surfing on the beach. Trying to impress her, he wiped out while trying to surf. Charlie Brown later told him that the last he saw her, she was running with a Golden Retriever on the beach.
In my world if the kids leave it out or don’t put it in the laundry basket themselves it disappears for good, mom also NEVER puts away the kids laundry……..Calvin would be naked in a week!
My wife and kids suggested something similar this year. We live on a farm so they suggested that I take all the snow from the drive (about 500 ft long) and use the snow blower to put all of it on top of a small hill at the end of the drive (away from the road). Then they would pack it all down and use it for a sledding hill…… my 12 year old boy was planning ramps on the down side for jumping barrels….with the amount of snow we have it would be about 50 ft high right now.
I doubt it would make Calvin feel any better but we heat the house with wood. Our thermostat is set at 58 degrees F and the only time any oil is used is when the temp outside falls below 10 degrees F. My kids wear sweaters and sweatshirts (and the oldest one cuts our wood on our property).
Everyone of us has had a situation in which we feel like Calvin is expressing his emotions here. As usual Bill W. captures the essence of our emotions with a few pen and ink sketches. Thank you Mr Watterson for all the enjoyment through the years.
Sorry, I think it has to be Calvin’s dad. Anyone who would tell his kid that the world used to be black and white (look at the old pictures) and that it changed to color (and pretty grainy too) somewhere in the 1920s has to have a mother that would send a package like that. GO GRANDMA!
Funny I perceived this as being aimed at Air America and CNN.
