we had something similar happen but we have plant liners filled with pine pellets for the puppies to use as litter pans. the older group now takes them over to them when they start wandering around looking for a potty spot.
yeah we’re talking a floating amount of our dogs + fosters which can total in the teens…takes me about 20-35 minutes to feed a mix of Pedigree Chicken and extra rice as well as make any puppy canned mixed with their puppy milk-substitutes. And that’s after they get past the 2-hour feedings on the bottle that my mom does while I’m off at work.
it’s not even bio parents, the whole pack trains them to behave. In the time I’ve done foster care for abandoned litters of pups, my huskies (and now Shar Peis) have potty trained them, kept them from going through dog-doors til they were old enough to be in the yard, and even how to sit and wait for their turn to eat and not steal (due to numbers, we have to hand-feed the wet dog food)
agreed. We are very quick to put people in some kind of “special needs” box when we only have a miniscule amount of evidence. while representation matters, being too quick to label can be damaging
he may not be developmentally challenged but smitten by Luann and how quickly she tamed the horde. I need more evidence to call it because he could just be a very awkward child trying to prove he can be useful.
yeah it’s been years since hospitals let a large number of under-supervised children just hang out there…too many accidents or mental trauma for the kiddos. They’re also unwitting germ factories and will go were explicitly told not to go.
