   Hopefully, it is temporary. Once a month, a non-profit/ministry started by a member of our congregation meets one a street corner in a nearby city that is one of the poorest in our state. We give sandwiches, water, coffee/tea/hot cocoa (depending on the season), toiletries, clothes, and at times blankets. While we do have some regular guests, many are visiting for the first time. Some are new to the US and speak little or no English, including families with young children. Others are active or recovering addicts. We do our best to welcome and accept them without judging. We If someone wants prayer, we pray with them, and add them to a prayer list. We give them a list of places where they could go for help. We do have boundaries – it’s freely given without being a free-for-all. We ask them their names, and we listen to their stories.

   I think the term is also to remind us that people who are experiencing homelessness are people first.

   I’d hate to do that to the non-Q residents living there. With gerrymandering, there’s more of them than the qrackpots in a number of states.

    The damage he’s done through our justice system alone will take a generation to fix, even if the Democrats re-take control of the House, strengthen the Senate, and re-elect President Biden and Vice President Harris. Vote BLUE so we have a future!
