There’s a kid’s book, “In the Beginning,” I think it is. Creation myths from numerous religions. I swore If I ever had to teach Creationism as science, I would use that book. Lent to another teacher, never got it back.
Worked at a school with 30 min. lunch break. It was awful. Some kid always forgot something in the room, so the teachers’ 1/2 hour was more like 20 min. We asked for a “longer lunch hour.” It was pointed out that an hour was 60 min. and couldn’t be longer or shorter. We asked for a longer lunch break and got it. All the schools I work for now (I sub) have yard duty personnel (I’ve done that, too).
I remember when postage went up to $.06 a letter. It meant I could not longer send 5 letters for a quarter! That was a big deal, as I was in college, and wrote a lot of letters home.
Catching up the day after Trump was not found guilty, by a vote of 57 to 43. It was the most bipartisan impeachment trial in US history, with the largest vote to convict in US history.
Afterward, Mitch McConnell, who voted not to convict, said in a speech, that Trump was guilty. Mitch based his vote on the “fact” that the trial was not Constitutional because Trump was no longer in office. Trump was impeached while he was still president, but McConnell refused to accept the House Impeachment documents until after Biden’s inauguration. I imagine McConnell singing Sidestep, from Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. He said there were judiciary means of holding Trump accountable. He has now put it on the Biden DOJ to pull his irons out of the fire. So McConnell et al. won’t get in trouble for convicting Trump, and it could have repercussions on the Democrats. B A S T A R D.
I like John Cassidy’s explanation (R LA): “I voted to convict Trump because he is guilty.” He has been censured by his state party. Kudos to the 7 brave Republicans who voted to convict, may their tribes increase.
