I have been in Cape Town when the rain is pelting down and the mountains are grey, the sky is grey, in fact everything is grey and the wind is blowing a gale.

There are many, many really poor people in South Africa.

It is because it does not have any ‘soap opera’ connotations that I do watch it.

The Cape is very windy, especially near the oceans.

The Atlantic Ocean has very cold water. The first time that I swam in the Atlantic side of the Cape at Hout Bay I was 11 years’ old. I was very surprised about the cold water as the day before I had been swimming in Muizenburg in the Indian Ocean. That is why the penguins are happy there. The two oceans meet at Cape Point, the Atlantic and the Indian ocean. There is a nature reserve at Cape Point.

I live in South Africa in the southern hemisphere and I enjoy these strips. I find them very informative about life in another country.

This is a very late reply to Rina Farina bu if a pot has food stuck or burnt on it pour some white spirit vinegar over the surface about quarter to half and inch and leave to stand for about two or three minutes then sprinkle about half to one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda into the vinegar. it will fizz up, then cover with the lid of the pot. Leave to stand for a couple of hours or overnight if it is really bad. Most of the sediment will dissolve and a few stubborn bits will come of with some steel wool or a brass pot scourer. Wash the pot in hot soapy water and Abracadabra! the pot is clean and shiny. :) This an old remedy from my grandmother and I am 80 now but it works like magic.
