Asterix

Comics fan located south of the Rio Grande. Astérix, Spirou et Fantasio & Tintin are my favourite French-language strips, but I can't imagine a life without Calvin & Hobbes.

Now, that riddle is really silly – and with the answer in the drawing even more so.

Or New Orleans for that matter. Cajun is all over the place.

Neither can he. Geographical names are a matter of usage. Case in point, it’s Rio Bravo in Mexico, Rio Grande in the US, and it makes no difference at the end. The whole debate is silly and pointless. Take it from one born and raised South of the Rio Grande / Bravo. And I’m no Sheinbaum fan, quite the opposite.

When boats carrying drugs to the US are intercepted in the Gulf of “whatever”, we’ll see if Trump is still so keen about calling it Gulf of America.

Make sure the Grinch, Horton and the Cat in the Hat are in there, just to be sure.

The passing of President Carter was a moment of cheer. He had a long happy life and was well past his prime – he deserved to rest peacefully. Trump’s inauguration, on the contrary, will be remembered as a day of shame.

Can’t think of any other song by CTD than mmmx x 4, actually. A one-hit wonder if I ever saw one.

Calvin & Hobbes goes all the way back to 1985, to the very first strip. And you may want to take a look at Comics Kingdom – not a GoComics competitor since it carries completely different strips. Some strips go back to the 30s and 40s. And the Mutt & Jeff strip in GoComics are dated 2003, but are actually from the 40s. So there’s plenty of nostalgia material to pick from.
