We, as audience, have one key piece of information that the characters don’t have. We know they’re characters in a comic strip written by a person telling a fun story.

9 Chickweed Lane did a magical time jump recently when Lolly, Polly and Alistair jumped from pre-schoolers to horny 20-somethings in literally one strip.

Dish is expensive and they also have contract-negotiation blackouts from time to time. Plus you lose the signal during thunderstorms. They’re really no better than your local cable company.

I dropped them several years ago when I realized that I’m only watching one channel, and I’m streaming everything else.

And when you cancel your subscription, you need to climb on your roof to remove part (but not all, amusingly) of the dish itself and mail it back to them along with the rest of your equipment.

And Patrick doesn’t strike me as the type to have never seen a commercial, since he’s living with parents who certainly aren’t paying for ad-free programming, and in a household that (obviously) has over-the-air TV and a VCR.

I think my initial guess, a few years ago, was correct. The are the true rulers of planet UFO.

Depends on the college. Guidance counselors are always trying to convince kids to go to expensive out-of-state schools, which cost a fortune. But in most states, if you go to a state university (and can therefore qualify for in-state tuition). Some students may still require a loan, but it won’t end up being so large as to be life-destroying.

The other problem, however, is that students are encouraged to pursue degrees that have no employment potential. And students are discouraged from going to trade schools even though you can make a very good living as an electrician, plumber, auto mechanic, etc.

Although I would like to blame “the system” here, ultimately, the blame falls on the parents who should know better and should be advising their children, especially since they’re probably paying off loans of their own.

It’s miniature golf – doesn’t get much more “mini” than that.

There’s one small problem with threatening to quit – he never volunteered to work there in the first place.

    Not necessarily silent.
