It’s moving and changing shape. My guess is a giant slug-monster.

Likewise, I’ve always known which direction is which. Until I took a vacation to the west coast and then my sense of east/west got reversed. It was at that point I realized that I was subconsciously associating “east” with “towards the ocean”, and when it swapped sides, so did my direction-sense.

People have conversations about shopping and it rarely matters what you’re shopping for. Why would you consider a product off-limits for discussion?

People always look at me funny when I tell them that I buy whatever’s cheapest at Costco (which has been Degree for the past several years).

Years ago, a friend stayed at my home for a few months. His cat was the same way. The food disappeared and the litter box was used, but we rarely saw the cat.

Reminds me of the myth of “rods”. Straight lines people sometimes see in late-night video of outdoor scenes, which nobody sees in real life. The lines appear for only one frame and some seem to think that it’s an object moving impossibly fast or (according to the more nutty reports), extra-dimensional objects briefly appearing in our dimension.

There was a show on Discovery (or maybe one of the other popular pseudo-science channels) talking all about these “rods” until, toward the end of the show, someone decided to use a high speed camera. The result? These “rods” are just moths flying through the region of the camera’s light, moving through the region too fast for a normal camera (at 30 frames per second) to capture.

Like the Simpsons parody? ( Treehouse Of Horror XIX – En.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/Treehouse_of_Horror_XIX#It’s_the_Grand_Pumpkin,_Milhouse )

I think I count eight of the ten cats. From left to right: This Side Up, Lily, Bluebell, Mr. Hollingsworth, Route Nine (mostly obscured behind everybody else), Jellybean, Jack Soames and Chesney.

It appears that Oliver and Woof are missing from the shot. I assume Oliver isn’t there because he isn’t freaking out (he scared the others), but I’m not sure why Woof isn’t present.
