Might does not “make right”. People — all people — are just animals trying to live within social structures that make it possible for us to not have to live by “the law of the jungle”. This has been true of people all over the world since we could first be called people, but we seem to tend to go from fighting as individuals to fighting in small groups to fighting in larger and larger groups. Sad really because we seem to prosper more when we work together in larger and larger groups.

More people need to understand that this is really what these people are like.

I could say that it’s interesting that you claim not go see the obvious political reference in the cartoon, but it’s not really interesting.

Elon Musk wants to save Western civilization from empathy. One report about this is on CNN but the quote and background can be found other places.

I would not be surprised if the inner circle at the White House is looking for an excuse to get rid of the Secretary of Defense, and he’s the one who (predictably) was doing most of the “loose lips” stuff. They want somebody who will be loyal to Trump above the Constitution, but Pete Hegseth is a true believing Christian Nationalist and that might be making some of them nervous. Just random speculation.

Sigh… I almost agree with you. It is a mistake to paint an idyllic picture of indigenous people in America. People all over the world have always been about the same. The stronger ones who get some power will usually try to take advantage of the weaker people if not constrained by a well developed culture. Unfortunately “well developed” in the sense that I mean has been rare. That doesn’t excuse the genocide and other barbarous acts of the US Government and settlers. But in any case, we shouldn’t blame it on “Manifest Destiny”; that was more about getting control of the land before some other Europeans did. “If we don’t steal the land, someone else will.”

But you can all relax (or find other things to worry about); that “road” is leading nowhere.

There has been a remarkable lack of evidence for all this “grift and graft” of which you speak.
