    I remember in 2003 when I heard very similar ideas on campus and how excited students were about the upcoming Iraq war. And how angry even non-students were when I predicted that the US soldiers would leave Iraq and Afghanistan in a Saigon-style.

    Sadly, Hitler was elected: his party had the most votes – he needed the monarchists as a coalition partner but there has never been a government in power in Germany between 1919 and today which wasn’t a coalition. According to Goering, they would have been in power years earlier if they had a US-style winner takes all election system in Germany…
