I think some of you are missing the “joke”… she is not just “borrowing trouble” she has taken a 30 year loan of trouble. It’s doesn’t really make sense, because I think she is saying she worries a lot but the metaphor would imply that she has a lot of trouble.
Isn’t salmon smoked so that you don’t have to cook it? People smoke salmon on the grill, but I don’t think people grill smoked salmon. “I’m smoking salmon” might have worked just as well.
Wasn’t there an arc a few years ago where Lilian met Eugene and confessed? He had had moved on with his life and although sad, the event was only a vague memory. Or did I remember that wrong?
