    So, to you the rainbow is not beautiful anymore because it’s being used as a “political” symbol.. But substitute “inclusive.” for political. To me, accepting LGBTQ people should not be a political stance, it should be common decency. If anything, the rainbow is now more beautiful, but we are very, very different people. It seems like you’re being choosy in what you’re objecting to. Did you post a comments about how Skittles ruined the rainbow for you? Of course not. I’m not ok with anti-LGBTQ comments on this page and I think it’s best this thread stops here.

    People use symbols for their logos all the time. Are you annoyed that Christians have appropriated the cross? It has represented other things. Guess the cross has lost its innocence now. Are you worried you can’t wear all your rainbow shirts, and can’t put all those rainbow decals in your window any more? I whole heartedly support the pride rainbow as a symbol of inclusion, and if it’s annoyance to someone, I wish they would just admit they are anti-LGBTQ instead of pretending the rainbow was so dear to them. Just saw a picture of Spongebob jumping over a rainbow, and all it meant was that Spongebob was jumping over a rainbow. That use of it is innocent and using it for pride purposes is innocent.

    I’ve read that, too, but I’m not as sure it’s just metaphorical. In very literal terms, Ireland has no snakes, so it makes sense to me that someone would try to take credit for that.
