Turtles are much more difficult than any mammal. They require specific lighting and foods or the shell doesn’t grow properly. Ailments are more difficult to recognize and treat. They can’t cry to get attention when they’re hungry. Add in that they normally live 10-15 years at a minimum, and can get large depending on the species…this is a terrible first pet. Not a fan of giving someone ANY pet, but especially not a fan of giving someone an animal they did not want.
