we lost the pieces to “Sorry” one year and gave each player a small tub of play-doh to form pieces… Game got renamed to “sorry assassin” because you could destroy/pound/rip-apart the piece before sending it back to start where the person had to re-create their piece to put back on the board. Ended up being so much fun we never use the real pieces anymore.
