   everytime i get called for JD (and i get called a lot), i always think i’ll do the “lie” thing, not be impartial, say the defendant looks guilty, etc. BUT, once you get up there, and the judge and bailiff and prosecutor is right there staring at you, you just can’t help but tell the truth……

   galileo was persecuted for pushing HELIOCENTRICISM, while the catholic church, keeper and horder of all scientific records from antiquity, making sure no one else learned the truth, kept pushing GEOCENTRISM. galileo, through his telescope, was able to confirm copernicus’ heliocentric model. a model that ALSO dates back to Aristarchus, another ancient greek from around eratosthenes’ time.

   american samoans, for some strange reason, are called american nationals, not citizens. i myself don’t quite understand what that means. but they are most likely treated in the same level as green card holders.

   fun fact…..humans ALREADY knew the world was round nearly 2,000 years BEFORE columbus. ancient greeks, discoverers of democracy, developers of math, science and medicine knew the circumference of the earth to within 10%. BUT, religion had to butt in and put the kibosh on all that amazing human development to usher in the dark ages of superstition and intolerant dogma.

   if a star wars geek really wants to thank anyone for star wars, thank Gary Kurtz, Irvin Kirshner, Ralph McQuarrie, Marcia Lucas, Lawrence Kasdan, and even the Fox executives that said no to George Lucas when he pitched them his original story, which SUCKED. all these people are what made Star Wars, at least the original trilogy, be more that what it is. Lucas was a hack. great businessman, though.
