My dad bought a brand new 1960 Corvair right off of the assembly line in October 1959. Over the next two years, the clawhammer handle of the emergency brake broke off twice, the engine overheated more than a half dozen times and the buttons of the push button transmission fell into the dashboard repeatedly when he tried to start the car. By August 1962, he was fed up with that car and got rid of it. However, it also leaked so much oil that the dirty stain from that oil is still on the floor in the garage 62 years later. Classic cars? Meh.
