I was a blind, toothless cat with one startling, milky eye. I lived as a ragged feral animal until someone took me in and gave me a home. My coat grew lush, and I was given food whenever I demanded it. I was still blind. Life was good.

HAHAHA! Nah, that’s not it. Although I am female, I attribute my recovery to luck and vegetarianism. That being said, had a rough 24 hours post as my adrenal glands went into shock. I took inventory, just in case.I’m stoked you stepped up and donated, not everyone has the fortitude.

I donated two years ago, felt ok post surgery, only took tylenol.

A PSA on becoming a living kidney donor is a good thing. Most people, including doctors, don’t know that much about it. I know whereof I speak, I donated a kidney. If you’re in general good health, you can donate a kidney and easily live with one.I was 63 when I donated.

I donate blood, and have never been told that it can save three lives. Guess I missed the memo.

I donated a kidney two years ago, and am still able to donate blood post donation.

I’m sorry to read of your friend, and your lingering sadness. She toughed it out for a long time, good on her. As an aside, kidney donation has come a long way. It’s not that hard to do and we can get along with one just fine. I became a living donor a couple years ago, when I was sixty-three.

Or donate a kidney. Mrs. Horner is likely too old to receive a transplant, but donating to a stranger, aka “non-directed donation”, that’d liven things up a bit.
