Ice Yachts can go faster than automobiles or flying machines in 1911. Just a few years before the Great War where flying machine speeds will go from 50mph to an unbelievable 150mph. My FIL was born in 1889. He taught school in a one room school house in rural Kentucky. Airplanes were so rare all the children would rush outside if one flew over.
