It’s not that the trucks can’t fit in the parking spot, it’s that people park so close to you that you can’t get back out. We have an F-350 with the extra tires (dual rear wheel) and while it certainly isn’t a daily driver, I’ve needed to stop by the grocery on my way home from somewhere else or when my car was in the shop. Yes, I take up 2 to 4 spaces out in the middle of nowhere parking lot because, again, people tend to park so close to you that you can’t safely pull out of a spot. And while I don’t feel the need to justify it, we need the truck because of my husband’s construction business and to haul our boat. I fit perfectly fine in one spot at Costco in that truck.
My phone is set to do not disturb after 10 PM. My emergency contacts will still cause it to sound but everything else is silent. I had to take my dad’s cell phone off the approved list because he kept texting me at 6 am figuring I’d just see it when I got up.
I think it’s dove season in some states right now. The people that I know that hunt them eat them. I guess I think of it the same way I do duck or pheasant hunting. We have a bunch of pheasant in the freezer right now
Yes, a living wage. No medical benefits because many of his employees don’t want them or want to pay for them in the winter. We keep trying to find something that’s more affordable for them but as a small company with no “buying power”, it’s been difficult. The main problem though is that it’s seasonal work 7 months out of the year. No one seems to know how to save their money any longer for the months they don’t work and only get unemployment. To give context, it’s a paving company in Ohio.
