   I ment a team salary floor. Teams like the Pirates collect luxury tax money, and don’t put it back into the team (that was the intent of the luxury tax). Paul Skenes will be traded at the deadline the season before he gets to free agency, and he will end up a Dodger, Yankee, Met or Red Sox, and Pittsburgh fans will be screwed. Although I admit I’d love to have him in a Yankee pinstripes. For competitive balance and the health of MLB the league needs a cap and a floor.

   I have two Yankee jerseys, Gerhig #4, Mattingly #23 (no names, of course), NY Giants #53 Carson, and a Rangers jersey #1 Giacomin. All retired, I don’t have to worry about them being traded. I see people at games with an expensive jersey from the newest rookie and wonder about that investment.
