   Thank you all for explaining. It is now clear to me that the rules in Holland and the US are not very different but that this doesn’t mean they are liked. Also here in Holland whistleblowers often face difficulties.

   I am Dutch and live in The Netherlands so could someone explain the following as I am not familiar with US laws? I heard (but only heard) that in the US (as in Holland) it is illegal to fire employees who testified under oath in court, even if they testified against their employer. Is that true?

   I don’t know the exact figures, but we are in the Top 3 or so. As far as I know the Scandinavian countries score higher, but we’re pretty close. I love my country indeed. It’s beautiful. But flat.

   Be careful indeed, Agnes. Just yesterday two trapeze artists fell from 10 meters during their act in Amsterdam.    Apparently criminals found the weak spot of one of the types of ATMs used in Holland. They cash a small amount of money and insert an explosive into the slot when it opens to deliver the money. BOOM! Out comes more money. The explosives get more and more powerful, so windows of nearby buildings get shattered. That’s why the banks have decided to close the ATMs and board them off, exactly as Tak shows. The one at the end of the street where I live is closed like that. Inconvenient, yes, but better than blasting my windows out.
