   I agree with you, BNFF1. I wish that the Valentine’s arc had lasted two weeks. Even after nearly two years, Daphne is still a minor character with the single personality trait of being devoted to Nate. She is Nate’s girlfriend in the same way that Kanga is Roo’s mum in the Winnie-the-Pooh franchise – she is defined by her relationship to another character because her own character has never been adequately explored, and she seldom takes an active part in things. Even in the Valentine’s arc all the jokes were to do with Nate’s ineptness. I was hoping that Peirce would acquaint us closer with Daphne via the said arc, and that we would get the opportunity to see her interacting with Nate’s dad and sister. Something new and much-needed!

   I can imagine Nate offering to write Mrs Czerwicki a romance novel starring Femme Fatale… Although now that he’s got Daphne he might not be into her so much xD

   It seems to me that the Mrs Czerwicki jokes are geared towards a slightly older audience. This isn’t a complaint; just an observation.

   You have a good point there, Decepticomic. Charlie Brown’s admission that he didn’t even know that Pig-Pen plays tennis suggests that they’re not particularly close friends at this point in Peanuts history. I would imagine that the first friends whom Pig-Pen would call would be Violet and Patty. I guess that he’s already spoken to them, and that Charlie Brown is next in line to hear of his triumph :) Of course, if Charlie Brown and Pig-Pen were really close friends, Charlie would have been present at the match itself.

   The drawing of Pig-Pen in the last panel of this Sunday strip is hands down my absolute favourite drawing that Charles Schulz ever produced (out of a total of 17,897 Peanuts strips). Do you know, this is only the second appearance that Pig-Pen has made since 1967?

   Schroeder is no gentleman. I know that people will say, “Yes, but Lucy is no lady”, but still… He shouldn’t be so quick to insult her all the time as though she were another boy. Anyway – Happy Valentine’s Day to you all, lovebirds and singles alike!! <3

   Happy Valentine’s Day, Everyone!! <3 Nate has brilliant taste in animated films; it’s wonderful that someone his age appreciates hand-drawn animation. I wish that they still made some animated movies the traditional, hand-drawn way.

   I’m confident that that won’t happen. As the great Lincoln Peirce declared himself apropos Nate and Daphne back in Christmas 2023, “There’s a lid for every pot”.

    For some reason, I find Daphne’s lack of a reaction in the last panel totally hilarious xD This arc is getting promising! Hopefully, too, it will stretch into next week.
