“Advancing a struggling plot line???” This decision was made back on June 22.
After a year of “advancing” the literary classic “should we move” plot line, we’re now going back to where we started.
I’ve mentioned previously that Jimmy had said that A&J is supposed to be a “gag a day” comic strip. Like many words in the English language the word “gag” has multiple meanings. My problem is that I assumed Jimmy was using definition of “a laugh provoking remark or act,” instead Jimmy is using the definition of “to choke or cause to retch.” My bad, sorry.
I’ve been a enthusiastic fan of A&J since the black and white 1990’s. I LOVE this strip! It has mirrored my life as I have been married, raised children, had a career, and am now retirement age with grandchildren. My frustration is that A&J was created as a “gag a day” comic strip, not a soap opera.
The whole “are we, or are we not going to move” plot line started A YEAR AGO last July. Has Jimmy become so devoid of creative ideas that he can’t move a simple story forward over the course of a whole year?!? Might be tolerable if there was some quality humor still in the strip.
At the rate we’re going it’s going to take another unfunny year for A&J just to select which moving company they are going to use.
It’s a sad commentary when Gus is the fastest moving part of the strip!
How many more times are we going to have to suffer through A&J having the same stupid, unfunny conversation?
Move or don’t, nobody cares, let’s just get back to this being a COMIC strip.
Thankfully Jimmy wasn’t in charge of the planning and execution of D-Day. Jimmy can’t get two cartoon characters to move a couple hundred miles with just one truckload of stuff. Hitler would still have blown his brains out, but it would have because of sheer boredom.
If you don’t like reading my comments maybe you shouldn’t read them; that is if you have the intellectual capacity to make such a simple decision. ;)
