   What changed was that Luann came dangerously close to having a romance arc, which would have made her the center of attention for a while. Karen simply would never stand for that.

   Bernice is into Piro because Luann is. I’ll bet she goes into full-on stalker mode again. I really dislike Bernice. She’s mean, arrogant, and a terrible friend.

   I miss the days when the strip was about Luann and her relationships. Now she’s just a foolish punching bag with awful friends. Karen Evans has ruined the strip, IMO.

   She stalked him like a complete maniac. That’s how she made him feel “safe”. So basically what we have here is another arc where Bernice, arguably the nastiest, most mean-spirited, and most unpleasant character in the strip, is made to look like a superhero, while Luann, our supposed starring character, is shoved aside and relegated to Sunday comic drivel. Greg, please stop listening to Karen! She’s turned your once engaging strip into a celebration of dysfuctionality.
