I love reading History. I find it more fascinating than most fiction. Although a registered Independent voter, my political and social views lean to a conservative outlook. Both major political parties are, in my opinion, totally bankrupt in ideals and intent. Both pull too far in their respective direction, and all have sold themselves to the highest bidders. A New England Yankee, I have great admiration for the founders of our nation. The early ones, Washington, Adams Jefferson and others put their lives on the line. Add Madison, Franklin and more. We are most fortunate that our Revolution/Rebellion was organized and led by educated, enlightened men (not to forget Abigail and some other uncelebrated women) who thought far into the future, and it took other men like Jackson, Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and FDR to maintain the hopes & dreams of millions. France's Revolution started well, but was taken over by lesser men, and fell into the Reign of Terror, and the Guillotine. Russia suffered Lenin & Trotsky. We were luckier! I cannot get through the day without reading the Comics. Regular comics first, then the Political 'toons. Unemployed for 35 months, I finally landed a good position with a good company! However, now I have less time to comment, (a relief to some) and less time to read other comments. Just typing out my gripes & diatribes gives me a feeling of being a little less helpless, and I feel better having said it. Sometimes I goof. I do like reading other comments: occasionally I learn something.

Again: It isn’t just trump. He and the republicans are financed by the small Billionaire-Investor class. And, due to a lack of interest in education, reading newspapers and books, about half of the people in this country today are MORONS. How else could such an openly vengeful, mentally-unstable Russian puppet get elected?

They are very rich from Ronald Reagan’s tax cuts and the “trickle-down” effect. The money the Millionaires got from tax cuts did indeed trickle down, but into the campaign coffers of congressmen. The Millionaire class became the Billionaire-Investor class, and now, for the first time in our history, they control all three branches of government at once. They will not let go of this power.

REGULATED Capitalism works. That’s the problem today, started by Reagan’s era of de-regulation. Now we have the Oligarch dictatorship in full grear.

True, Rocky, but you must admit that these firings are being dished out with a recklessness that knows no bounds. Most of these workers are being labeled as lazy and unproductive, without even looking into how each one has performed. And Musk’s emails, threatening to fire them if they do not respond? And most obscene of all is trump’s vengence firings. He should be impeached for that. Are you OKAY with how this is all being inflicted?

Not that the excesses of the dems made it harder for the repubs!During OBama’s terms, the dem leadership tried to shove too much down the throats of conservative and middle-of-road voters in too short a time. From what I have been reading and hearing, I don’t think the dems have a clue yet!

Remember that “Peace Dividend” that George H W Bush promised us? Did you get yours? I never got one.

All in all, it is a woman’s/young girl’s FACE that makes the greatest attraction to men/young boys. Having a killer body to go with it is a bonus.

I believe that today is the first time that the Billionaire-Investor class holds the levers of power in all three branches of the government. They don’t have to worry about checks and balances to keep things fair anymore. The lowered standards of behavior set by the repubs seem acceptable by so many Americans, and are eroding the very foundations of what made America great once.

trump and musk are still just puppets of the Billionaire-Investor class, authors of Project 2025. . Musk has been given a loose leash to execute the dirty work so that the republican congressmen tell their constituants that they opposed it , and could not reign it in, thus: get re-elected. This is, I perceive, the first time in our history that the ultra-wealthy have attained power over all three branches of the government at once. No more checks and balances. No matter what happens in the coming months, they will not relinquish this power. Seriously, we may not have elections again as we knew them.

My original comment said “We H*** Sapiens have no…….” I was flagged for that single word, and changed it to “We Humans….” What a world we live in today!
