   I hope no one laughed at this. It’s much closer to reality than you may think. The choice to buy an old-fashioned toaster may soon be taken away.

   I tried to buy a TV set. You know, to watch TV? No such luck. Everything is a Smart TV. The online instruction manual is 100 pages long. And the sound is terrible, so you need a sound bar, too. Luckily, their instruction manuals are only 50 pages long. And to get them to work together, the store wants $200 for a tech to come set them up.

   This is “progress”.

   Bread is nothing more than a peanut butter delivery vehicle. If I want peanut butter, all I need is a spoon.

   But it was nice to see the Wonder Bread balloons again.

   Glad it was a long time ago. That scrap was supposed to be bundled up at the can factory and sold to recyclers by the company. It was part of the budget. By now the statute of limitations has run out, so everyone is safe. :-)

   I made a living out of making — get this! — EMPTY CANS.

   We sold them to companies that made BEVERAGES, like beer and soda. Because — follow me here — they needed something to HOLD the liquid so they could sell it to YOU!

   What a concept, right?
