It’s been more than that. After 7 months of no job, I’m in danger of being evicted. I can no longer pay bills. I’m going to friends and family to scrape money together to survive. I’ve started to collect Social Security but the first check drops on Feb 24 and I don’t have anywhere near the amount to cover bills until then. I just don’t want to burden the rest of the Orb with my burdens.
But I’ve at least been keeping up on BCN in the mornings.
More like right now. After 60,000 miles, a Tesla battery needs to be replaced because it got worn out by all the charging. Replacing the battery costs so much it totals the car.
That happened to me. A few decades ago when I sold my house, I filled up the oil tank at around 70 cents per gallon (we were on a prepay which is much cheaper), and the buyer gave us a check for the oil at the going rate of around $4 per gallon.
Took me a second. Even though I’m in the US, I’m a scientist and work in metric measurements most of the time.
