I’ve happily read it through for the second time, and still have my own hardbound book that I printed out each day that it came out the first time. I also have my paper doll robot! If it re-runs again, I’ll keep reading it. It seemed to go by faster this time…
I even printed the splash page of the robot lifting the SWAT truck and made my own cover for it (Using “The Last Mechanical Monster” in red with yellow trim, all on a blue background. With “By Brian Fies” at the bottom center, of course. I have told my wife and son that they both have to read it!
I followed the original run from the beginning – and I’ll read it again! I love the model – I’ll be picking up cardstock today – can’t wait to make the model! Thanks again for the great story! If it is ever available in print, I’ll get a copy – until then, I’ve got each page printed and in a 3-ring binder – not elegant, but satisfactory!
Standing Ovation – I’ve read this strip from day one, and have enjoyed it every step of the way. Lately I’ve been looking forward with a bit of cringing in my heart, knowing that we were near the end. This story is (to me) the way comics are meant to be. Mr. Fies, you are a gentleman and genius. Thanks for so much entertainment!
