Ha! I was one of those bookish 14 year olds. I was enthralled with both books. But one I abandoned and the other has stuck with me over the years. It has lots and lots of Orcs.
Hi. Michael Fry here. Writer of Over the Hedge. Enjoying all the fan carnage we’ve caused with this week’s arc. For those of you don’t like your comics to have a political opinion I really can’t help you. Hedge has always reflected T and my center left bent. We’ve always ping-ponged between silly physical comedy and political hot (luke warm) takes. But seriously, this isn’t about left and right, it’s about life and death. I live in Texas and I’m honestly astonished at the cynical actions of our governor. I DO NOT GET IT! Freedom? Personal responsibility? Does Abbott/Desantis just not believe a person can become infected, be asymptomatic and pass on the virus to someone who’s in a high risk group? To family members? To children? Personal responsibility is NOT doing that! Personal responsibility is caring and looking out for others in a public health emergency. There’s absolutely nothing political in that statement. It’s the apotheosis of Judeo-Christian-Muslim-Hindu-Church of the Subgenius thought (thus spoke Bob). I don’t give you Covid. You don’t give me Covid. Get the shot. Wear a mask. Keep your distance. DON’T BE A BUTT-HEAD! Please. I said, please.
Thanks. We’re doing fine now. Couple of busted pipes in the garage. Lost some landscaping. First world to third world happens a lot faster than you think.
Thank you.
